Old Morrison, Transylvania University

About this landmark

Gideon Shryock's Greek Revival main building at Transylvania University, built 1830-34 with funds from James Morrison after an 1829 fire destroyed the original. Six Doric columns front it. Union troops used it as a hospital, and it is a National Historic Landmark.
