Lexington's fifth courthouse, built 1898-1900 of rough Kentucky limestone after the previous one burned in 1897. Its dome carries a bell that has hung in every Fayette County courthouse since 1806. Courts left in 2002, and it reopened in 2003 as the Lexington History Center.
