McAdams and Morford Building (Melodeon Hall)

About this landmark

Three-story building from 1849 with a later cast-iron Italianate facade. It held Melodeon Hall, a 300-seat theater where Robert J. Breckinridge spoke in 1861, remarks credited with helping keep Kentucky in the Union. McAdams & Morford druggists were here from 1898 to 1994.
